Grafana Assistant is an AI-powered observability companion that processes your data to provide intelligent responses and recommendations. As with any AI service, it’s important to understand how Grafana Cloud collects, processes, and protects your data, including when the Assistant UI is running in a self-managed Grafana deployment connected to Grafana Cloud.

Before you begin

• Assistant access: Assistant may appear in your Plugins catalog, but it isn’t enabled by default. You don’t send data to any AI/LLM provider until you use Assistant.
• Administrative permissions: Some privacy and security settings require organization administrator or Assistant Admin role privileges.
