Frontend Observability pricing

Grafana Cloud Frontend Observability bills on sessions, plus the logs and traces your frontend apps send. Which model applies to you depends on when you started using the product.

For current rates, refer to the pricing page.

How Frontend Observability is billed

Two charges apply:

  • Sessions, billed per 1,000 sessions.
  • Telemetry, meaning the logs and traces your frontend apps send, at standard Grafana Cloud rates.

How those two interact depends on your model:

  • Customers who started on or after February 13, 2026 pay a lower session rate and pay for all telemetry separately. This model includes no telemetry credits.
  • Customers who started before February 13, 2026 pay a higher session rate that includes telemetry credits. Standard rates apply above the credits.

Definitions

Session: The time a user spends in a frontend app, from start to finish or until timeout. The SDK creates or resumes a session when a user visits and uses the app.

A session ends after a maximum of 4 hours, or after 15 minutes of inactivity. When a user returns after a timeout, the SDK creates a new session.

How usage is calculated

Session usage is the total number of sessions in the billing month, billed per 1,000.

Telemetry usage is your actual logs and traces volume, calculated the same way as telemetry from any other source.

Example

For an account on the current model with 100,000 sessions, 17 GB of logs, and 5 GB of traces in a month, the invoice has three lines: 100 units of 1,000 sessions, 17 GB of logs, and 5 GB of traces. Each is billed at the rate on the pricing page.

Special considerations

Telemetry credits

Telemetry credits apply only if you started before February 13, 2026.

On that model you receive a credit of 0.25 GB of traces and 0.10 GB of logs per 1,000 sessions. Most customers stay within this included usage. Above it, standard rates for traces and logs apply.
