GitHub integration for Grafana Incident

Grafana Incident integrates with your GitHub repositories for enhanced collaboration during incident response. By syncing critical details, it provides increased visibility and context throughout incidents.

This integration helps responders coordinate and take action quicker with task management capabilities that allow you to easily convert Incident tasks into GitHub issues and vice versa.

Before you begin

  • You must be a Grafana Cloud Admin to install integrations.
  • Github admin permissions are required to enable the Grafana Incident app.

Note: If you’re not a Github admin, request approval from your org admin to enable to Grafana Incident app.

Install GitHub integration for Grafana Incident

  1. Navigate to Incidents > Integrations in the left-side menu of Grafana Cloud.
  2. Select GitHub from the list of available integrations and click Install integration.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to GitHub and return to the Grafana Incident app.

After the GitHub integration is installed, you can select the repositories you wish to connect with Grafana Incident.

Post-install configuration

Connect repositories to Grafana Incident:

  1. From the Github integration, Click Manage integration permissions.
  2. Once redirected to GitHub, click Configure to specify which GitHub repositories to connect with Grafana Incident.
  3. Follow the GitHub prompts to allow Grafana Incident to access your GitHub repository.
  4. Once you’re done, return to Grafana Incident.
