Grafana Labs at FOSDEM 2024: ebpf auto-instrumentation, CI/CD observability, and more

2 Feb, 2024 3 min

We’re back for another year of fun at FOSDEM! More than 50 Grafanistas are traveling to Brussels to attend, speak, volunteer, and connect with the greater open source community at the annual conference.

If you have never heard of FOSDEM, I’m happy to tell you that it’s the most significant open source conference for the community — free for attendees and run by volunteers. This year, there are more than 867 planned sessions that will take place from February 3 to 4 at the Université Libre de Bruxelles

Outside of all the talks, more than 8,000 attendees are expected to navigate the well-known FOSDEM hallway track to meet other community members and share their best tips, tricks, and insights about open source technology. Here are a few opportunities for you to connect with the Grafana Labs team at FOSDEM.

Meet up at the Grafana Labs FOSDEM stand

This is the sixth year that Grafana Labs will have a stand at FOSDEM. It’s one of our favorite parts of the event because you can easily find us to chat about all things related to our open source Grafana LGTM stack.

Find us on the main floor near the entrance of Building K. Just look for the table with a large screen of Grafana dashboards showcasing how FOSDEM coordinators use Grafana to monitor conference-related data. Plus we’ll have plenty of Grafana stickers on hand, of course.

Grafana Labs engineers from our different open source teams will be available throughout the conference to connect with the broader open source observability community. Please stop by, share your story, provide feedback, talk shop, whatever it may be.

Inside the Monitoring and Observability devroom

Grafana Labs’ very own Fabian Stäber, Richard “RichiH” Hartmann, and Carl Bergquist are running the Monitoring and Observability devroom for the eighth year. It will occur on Sunday, Feb. 4, in room UA2.220 (Guillissen). You’ll find various topics, from distributed traces with eBPF to DIY monitoring to CI/CD observability and more.

Here’s a quick snapshot of Grafana Labs engineers speaking at the Monitoring and Observability devroom:

You can also find Grafanistas in the keynote, lightning talks, tool the docs devroom, and the testing and continuous delivery devroom.

Or if you see any of us wandering around the conference wearing our Grafana swag, please come over and say hi! We look forward to seeing you in Brussels!
